Februrary Blogging Focus: Black History Month

FEBRUARY BLOG ASSIGNMENT

This month’s blog assignment is for student to find a source of new information, interest, and factual details within the Library of Congress Website dedicated to African American History month. However, upon digging a little deeper, I have found several websites that have great resources for this Blog assignment.

Here are a few more websites that students are allowed and encouraged to use:

Biography.com has great videos, pictures, and history guides of influential African Americans and a little about their background. Find someone inspiring and take your research a little further.

The history.com website also has a great overview of the history behind Black History Month as well as suggested research areas, photos, etc.

Time Magazine has an easy-to-use website for students. Excellent spotlights and resources to get you thinking.

Students should choose one or more websites listed above to investigate either an event, person, or group of people. Feel free to use the search options on each page to search for a fact, event, or name that you are curious about.

I will update this post with an example before the weekend.

  1. You have to really look around in my native country to find a few people who were born in Africa or are of African origin. However, people over there are fond of one very special African-American trumpet player, one singer, one runner, one famous leader, and so far. All of these passionate achievers are gems in the African-American History Chest. I cannot wait to learn more throughout this month. Happy blogging!
